Mrs Anita Rivera

Anita Lupe Rivera, born December 12, 1942 to the late Augustine and Consuelo Heredia. Passed away March 23, 2020 at the age of 77. Anita lived in Richmond all her life. She attended some college and went on to become a Cosmetologist for more than 50 years. In 1961, she married the love of her life, Carlos Rivera. The two of them had one daughter, June Rivera and in turn, June had one daughter, giving Anita and Carlos their granddaughter, Ashley Rivera-Wood, whom Anita loved and adored.

Anita loved to play BINGO. She would go to all the Senior Centers in the area to play the game. She was an active member of the St. Joseph Church parish, and was always involved with the Octoberfest they hosted annually. Anita’s other hobbies included bowling, gardening and tending to anything she could make grow, when she was still able.  Anita also had a great love for her cats and dog; caring for them just as if she would any other family member.

Anita is lovingly remembered by her husband, Carlos; daughter, June; granddaughter, Ashley; brother, Alan Heredia and nephews Alvez and Adam Heredia. She was preceded in death by both parents and one brother, Dennis Heredia.
