Augusta L. O’Neal was born March 10, 1942, to the late John Savage and Bettie Savage. She received Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age under the Leadership of Pastor Kennedy of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, Alexandria Louisiana. Augusta graduated from Centennial High School in Compton, California, and attended Nursing School in Los Angeles, California. She started her career with Kaiser Permanente in Bellflower, California where she was a faithful employee for over 35 years before retiring.
Augusta lived a full, virtuous life and possessed an abundance of Christian Love. She was a member of Palma Ceia Baptist Church were she served under the late Reverend Charles Bennett.
Augusta was married to the love of her life Roosevelt J. O’Neal who she cherished for 40 years. They have three Daughters Wanda Salone (David), Cynthia Salone and Vanessa Cole (Twain). She has one Grandson Diontah Harris (Brittney), Great Grandson Valentino Harris, Great Granddaughter Aubreanna Harris, and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
She loved spending time with her husband and children, and cherished the time she shared with her grandchildren. She loved shopping, holidays, and birthday celebrations.
Augusta could be found giving advice to the young and the old. She deeply cared about others hopes, dreams, and well-being. Augusta’s life will be remembered by all she touched and will serve as inspiration to those she leaves behind to cherish her memories.
Augusta L. O’Neal ended her journey on March 21, 2020, and was called home to be with her heavenly Father, her reward for being a good and faithful servant.
