Catherine Ann (Katie) Crenshaw died at home on May 11, 2018 after a short illness. She was born on October 8, 1932 in Lismore, Minnesota, to William Koehne and Sophia Wittry. She was the last surviving sibling of eleven children.
Katie moved to CA with her parents in 1943. She met her husband Bill Crenshaw in 1955 while he was serving in the US Navy. They were married at St. Cornelius Church in November 1955 and remained married for 50 years until Bill predeceased her in death in January 2006.
Katie was the loving Mother to Joan Jones and husband Thorro, Rick Crenshaw and wife Lisa, Craig Hall and wife Susan, Mary Phelps and husband Larry, BK Crenshaw Coggins and husband Christopher and Sally Couser. She was the beloved Gramma to Amanda, Kathy, Dustin, Derek, Shawna, Jennifer, Cabe, Danny, Rachel, Zack, Katelynn, Katie, Stephanie and Emily. She was the adored Great-Gramma to Ben, Christopher, Roseilli, Mariana, Abby, and Alana. Katie was also the treasured Aunt to more than one hundred nieces and nephews. 
Katie worked for the West Contra Costa School District for more than 32 years as a Special Education Teacher's Aide. She loved working with children. It was her "true calling".
In her free time, Katie enjoyed bowling in the School District bowling league. She also loved sewing and other arts and crafts. Most of all, Katie was all about family. 
A celebration of Katie's life will take place Thursday, May 17th at 7:00 p.m. at Wilson & Kratzer Mortuaries, Civic Center Chapel, 455 24th St., Richmond, CA 94804.
