Enrique Gallozo Vallejo
June 28, 1925 – February 10, 2020
Enrique Gallozo Vallejo, was born in Tulancingo, Hidalgo, Mexico on June 28, 1925 to Constantino and Josefina Vallejo. As was customary in earlier years, Enrique began working at a young age; and when he was able, enlisted and served in the Mexican Army. Among some of his jobs, he was a “side barber” and his friends actually came to his home and he would cut their hair. He also enjoyed making sandals. He was well known as the fastest sandal maker in his little town of Pahuatlan, Puebla.
Enrique met Esperanza in Tijuana. They married and moved to Chilquin, Oregon where he worked for the railroad. A couple years later they moved to California where he and his wife, purchased a home in Richmond and raised their family. His last position held was as a Construction worker with Ericson, Inc. whom contracted with Chevron, where he remained until retirement at the age of 62. After Enrique retired, he spent many of his days simply on his front porch “people watching.” Enrique was very social and loved talking to people. He was very involved with herbs and healing.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 60 years, Esperanza Vallejo; children, Rosita, Constantino, Josefina, Javier and Enrique; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. One grandson preceded him in death.
