Kim was born on October 8, 1981 in San Francisco, California to the union of Ollie and Linda Benard Jr. As a child, Kim spent time growing up in Louisiana, where she gained the nickname Kim-Budah. Kim was adored by her friends and family. Even as a child she was known for being dedicated, generous, courageous, and having a servants heart.
A time to love:
Kim had a great love for her family and friends. Kim was loyal to everyone she loved and never met a person she didn’t open her heart to and try to help when needed.Kim‘s greatest love was for her children. Kim was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them.
A time to plant:
Kim excelled in everything she did. Two weeks after graduating from Hogan High School she received her state board cosmetology license. She attended Southern University and received an associates degree from Solano County Community College. Kim loved to make people look great. She was a master hair braider and colorist. Kim wore many hats: Girl Scout Troop Leader, Cookie Mom, as well as lending her time to Girls on the Run. She was a champion for the people as she advocated to change union laws for her fellow ILWU Local 75 Watchmen.
A time to Pass the Torch
Kim is the loving and devoted mother of Keriana Joy, Kyiana Paris-Janea and Kingston Jacion. Loving daughter of Linda Benard and the late Ollie Benard Jr. Cherished sister of Denicia (Todd), Betchova and Ja’Colbrian. Adored auntie of Kelasia, Mason and Micah. Best friend of Alexis Winn and Diana Williams. Godmother of Gisella Princess “GG Girl” Rufus. Kim is also loved by a plethora of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
All who had the pleasure of loving her are forever better because of her.
