María Soledad Gómez nació el 18 de junio de 1955 en El Tepehuaje de Chavinda, Michoacán, México. Se casó el 2 de julio de 1969 con Arnulfo Gómez Rodríguez. En viudo el 30 de marzo de 1989. Sobrevive una hija, Blanca Estela Villalon, su yerno, Víctor Manuel Villalon, dos nietos, Víctor Daniel Villalon y José Andrés Villalon, y ocho sobrinos, Gloria Vega Gómez, Vicente Alatore Gómez, Francisco Alatore Gómez, Miguel Ángel Alatore Gómez, Juan Pablo Alatore Gómez, Alfredo Alatore Gómez, Mauricio Alatore Gómez y José Alatore Gómez.

 

Llegó a los Estados Unidos en 1985, habiendo vivido en Richmond California por 11 años antes de regresar a México en 1996. Conoció a su consuegra, María Luisa Calderón, a su yerno, Víctor Manuel Villalon, y a la familia Moisés Mesa Calderón, Mónica Martínez Calderón, y Adam Meza Calderón. Asistía a la Primera Iglesia Bautista Mexicana de Richmond. Nuevamente regresó a los Estados Unidos en octubre de 2005 hasta la fecha. Su mejor amiga era Genoveva Garcia Calloway.

 

Fue una mujer muy trabajadora. En México, su manera de sobrevivir era haciendo tortillas, lavando, planchando, haciendo costuras ajenas, trabajando en el campo, todo para mantener a su familia. A pesar de las dificultades que tuvo, ella siempre fue una mujer luchadora.

 

Era común verla haciendo costuras para todos. Le gustaba cocinar, ayudar en el servicio comunitario, cantar, pintar, y dar consejos. Dios le dio la oportunidad de despedirse de todos sus seres queridos, en sus últimos momentos tuvo un encuentro con el Señor y se fue en paz el 8 de abril de 2021.

María Soledad Gómez was born on June 18, 1955 in El Tepehuaje de Chavinda, Michoacán, México. She married Arnulfo Gómez Rodríguez on July 2, 1969. She was widowed on March 30, 1989. Survived one daughter, Blanca Estela Villalon, her son-in-law, Víctor Manuel Villalon, two grandchildren, Víctor Daniel Villalon and José Andrés Villalon, and one neice, Gloria Vega Gómez, and seven nephews, Vicente Alatore Gómez, FranciscoAlatore Gómez, Miguel Ángel Alatore Gómez, Juan Pablo Alatore Gómez, Alfredo Alatore Gómez, Mauricio Alatore Gómez and José Alatore Gómez. 

 

She came to the United States in 1985, having lived in Richmond California for 11 years before returning to Mexico in 1996. She met her co-mother-in-law, María Luisa Calderón, her son-in-law, Víctor Manuel Villalon, and their family Moisés Mesa Calderón, Mónica Martínez Calderón, and Adam Meza Calderón. She attended the First Mexican Baptist Church of Richmond. She again returned to the United States in October 2005 to date. Her best friend was Genoveva Garcia Calloway. 

 

She was a very hardworking woman. In Mexico, her way of surviving was by making tortillas, washing, ironing, sewing for others, working in the fields, all to support her family. Despite the difficulties she had, she was always a strong woman. 

 

It was common to see her doing sewing for everyone. She enjoyed cooking, helping out in community service, singing, painting, and giving advice. God gave her the opportunity to say goodbye to all her loved ones, in her last moments she had an encounter with the Lord and she left in peace on April 8, 2021.
