Mimi A. Halter

Mimi A. Halter was a teacher for thirty-nine years with the Richmond Unified School District at Nystrom and Stege Elementary schools where she formed many life-long relationships with fellow teachers and students who continued to check-in with her over the years and miles.
Born in Richmond, CA, she was the only child of Mimi (Lendl) and Fred Halter. She graduated from Richmond High School and San Francisco State University with a teaching credential. Miss Mimi spent many years teaching CCD and running YCW youth group at St Mark's Parish. Later, she moved to St. Cornelius Parish, continuing to be a loving Auntie to Cathy, Aggie, Claire, Steve, Rita and Gina, her adopted family of her lifelong friend, Liese Klement De Lucchi. Mimi is survived by many cousins across the US and in Austria.
Known for her love of cats, she cared for and befriended many, even in her last home at Pinole Senior Village. She was well loved by all her adopted family and fostered a love of reading in the younger generations. She was a master of communication to relatives and family through phone calls, letters and hand-written notes, as well as the books she generously provided to the children .
Services will be held at Wilson & Kratzer (Civic Center), Richmond, on Wednesday, 7 March 2018 at 11 am. Private interment to follow.
