Peter Guy Sklover

1948 - 2021

Peter Sklover, 72, of Richmond, CA. Passed away on April 19, 2021 following a very short battle with Lung Cancer.

Peter was born September 12, 1948 to Nellie and Max Sklover in Jackson, CA. He attended Norte Del Rio High School in Sacramento, CA. After graduating from the Class of 1966, Peter attended some college and then enlisted in the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. Earning the rank of Sergeant, he also received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal with Two Stars, the Meritorious Mast, Vietnamese Campaign Medal with 1960 Device, the Good Conduct Medal and the Meritorious Unit Citation Medal. 

After serving his country, Peter went on to work for BART. Beginning as a mechanic, Peter worked his way up and became an Employee Development Specialist, retiring after 35 years of employment.

After retiring, Peter always kept busy. Whether it was a weekly-upheld lunch date with good friends or manning an event for the Salesian High School Booster Club, you could count on Peter always being there. Especially when it came to his grandchildren and their interests.

Peter is survived by his three children, Roy, Kim and Lindy; brother, Robert; and grandchildren Linnea, Randy, Lula, Xainte and Twila.

Peter’s generosity, and loyalty to his friends and family, uplifting others, helping anyone willing to help themselves, will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service honoring Peter’s life will be held May 1st, at 11:00am at Salesian High School, 2851 Salesian Ave., Richmond, CA 94804
