Tribute

Sister Victoria Farley Green was born March 4, 1918 in Shelby County, Tennessee to Mr. Willis and Mrs. Mary Lee Farley. She was the youngest of ten children. She was married to the late Pastor D. V. Green. Sister Green was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and all of her siblings.

Sister Green attended public school in Memphis, Tennessee and graduated from Booker T. Washington High.

She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and was baptized by the late Reverend Kidd Scott at Progressive Baptist Church.

Sister Green was admired by many. Her spiritual gifts, unique skills, sweet voice and Godly spirit were used to glorify God. She was a gracious giver. Sister Green spiritually watered and constantly prayed as God increased regenerated souls to become dedicated and devoted Christian servants.

She always taught that her prosperity was “the measure of the presence of the Lord in her life.” She insisted on giving “God the Glory” and encouraged all humanity to Love, Love, Love.

“To God be the Glory”

My praise is to God for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Seek the “Lord” while He may be found. Believe in thine heart, confess with thy mouth and be baptized. Obey God’s word and follow Jesus everyday of your life. Trust in “Lord” with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). Pray without ceasing. Love everybody. Do good and go to church and worship God and Him alone (not man). Read the Bible. Listen to “God’s” word being preached. Pray for God’s word to help you do the right things always.

A special thanks to two of the most wonderful adult women ever, namely Mrs. Claudia Winrow, my adopted God granddaughter and Ms. Rene Rochelle. May God shower you with abundant blessings. May God bless and preserve your going out and may God bless your coming in. May He give each of you a double portion of health and strength to continue.

To my adopted grandsons; your moral and religious development is paramount. John, Kevin and Lloyd Curry. I love you and may God bless you always and forever.

I count it all joy.
