Mr Willie Dean Roberts Sr

Willie Dean Roberts Sr. was born on January 15, 1951, in Richmond California to the late Precious Jewell Thomas and Marion Roberts. He departed this life on March 22, 2021 at his home in Sacramento California. He accepted Christ at an early age. He was in the Boy scouts in the 60’s. He received his education from the Richmond Unified School District and graduated from Kennedy High School where he was a member of the Eagles basket team. He continued his education at Contra Costa Jr. College. Later in life he was affiliated with the Nation of Islam.

Willie was employed at the Safeway Warehouse in Richmond for a number of years. Later he would become an entrepreneur and held several different businesses such as having his own restaurant which he opened with his cousin Ronald Porter, landscaping, ice cream truck, sold T-shirts, pictures and most known for the delicious beans and blueberry cheese pies he made. He took pride in everything he did and kept food on the table while being involved in the community.

Willie was a kind, freehearted, giving man whose infectious smile and laugh put a permanent etch in the hearts of those who knew him and others. He was also a loving husband to Queen Esther Robert’s (who preceded him in death) and father of three, Stacey Holly, Rickie Lynn Harris, and Willie Dean Roberts Jr. (who proceeded him in death). Willie loved to take his family on vacations, loved the outdoors, and family camping trips. He was known for firing up the mobile home and take his family somewhere nice for the summers.

Willie leaves to cherish his wife Queen Esther Roberts (who preceded him in death). His two daughters Stacey Holly and Rickie Lynn Harris. His son Willie Dean Roberts Jr. (who also preceded him in death) and son-in law Edward Holly. Nine grandchildren Robert, Romon, Ravonne, Sierra, Tierra, Raiyah, Tiana, Sequoia and Nichelle Roberts. Seven great grandchildren: Jayln, Raijhier, Raiyan, Vivanna, Amias, Ayla, and Noelle. Two sisters Jackie Roberts, Janice Sharp and brother Kary Thomas. One sister-in-law Geraldine Marshall and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents Precious Jewell Thomas and Marion Roberts, wife Queen Esther Roberts, son Willie Dean Roberts Jr. His brothers James, Jethro, Joseph “Brah” and Elbert. Sisters Josephine, Mary, and his twin sister Dorothy Roberts.

He also leaves to cherish a special friend Yolanda Westbrook and her daughters Shonda and Nadia. Tracey Ford and family, and Ellis and Laverne Ford.
