Mr Carl Vester Dowell Sr.

Carl Vester Dowell Sr. was born on September 16, 1942, and departed this life on March 14, 2020, at the age of 77.

Carl was a proud Veteran in the United States Army and a longtime Richmond resident. Carl is survived by his daughters, Angela Dowell and Dalinda Dowell-Wooten (Demarco), his sons, Allen Stedman (Cristina) and Carl Dowell Jr. (Tamika), his brothers, Donnell Dowell, (George Ella) and Artis Dowell, his sisters, Bonnie Ray Osborne and Bobbie Jean Spears as well as grandchildren and a great-granddaughter, host of family members and a tight circle of friends who referred to him as “Chico”.

Carl was a faithful member of New Bethel Apostolic Church in Richmond, California and enjoyed attending weekly church services and Bible study. Carl’s favorite pastimes were watching the San Francisco 49ers, the Los Angeles Lakers and western television shows. Private services were held on April 3rd and was limited to immediate family due to the virus outbreak. A memorial service will be held at a later date and time.
