Mrs Courtney L. Bentley Mitchell

     Courtney Lynne Bentley- Mitchell was born December 10th, 1976 on a cool winter day
in Detroit, Michigan to the proud parents of Loretta Lee & Herman K. Bentley. Courtney
resided with her parents in Detroit. At the age of five, her and her mother Loretta moved to
Richmond, California.
     Courtney received her education at St. Paul Primary School and St. Mary’s High School
in Richmond and Albany, California respectively. She was confirmed while attending St. Paul
and later accepted Jesus Christ under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Mildred Andrews. As a
youth, Courtney was a cheerleader for the Richmond Steelers and St. Mary’s High School, but
spent most of her free time with family and friends. Courtney graduated from Pinole Valley
High School in 1994. She would later earn her Associates degree in Healthcare Administration
with an emphasis in Medical Records from the University of Phoenix.
     In 1993, she met her future husband, Lionel Mitchell. To this union a daughter was
born, Skylar Lynne Mitchell on May 23rd, 2011. Courtney and Lionell were wed on July 14th,
2011.
     Over the years, Courtney shared her talents with a few companies, most notably Wells
Fargo and finally Kaiser Permanente.
     Before her untimely passing, Courtney was proud of her relationship with her daughter
and the bond that they shared. They enjoyed various activities especially going out to eat and
taking selfies. Courtney was also a proud wife. She enjoyed taking family vacations and one of
her famous captions was #pudswife. Courtney was a great friend to many. She enjoyed
spending time with her girlfriends, socializing and taking trips. She was a great big cousin and
god mother as well.
     Courtney had a beautiful spirit, she brightened up any room she entered. Her personality was
infectious, she was always smiling and laughing. If anyone knew Courtney, they knew she
loved her designer bags and shoes.
     Courtney leaves behind to cherish her memory:

Bonus Sisters: Trinell M. Bowman & Diondra A. Bolling, Los Angeles, CA. Helen Christian,
Rodeo, CA., Evelyn Christian, Richmond, CA. & Ura Dell Christian, Concord, CA. Best
Friend: Claudja Davis- Haggerty, Oakland, CA., as well as, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.

teaching you a difficult lesson, learned only by hardship. Lift up empty hands of faith to

your focus turns away from Me, you grasp for other things. You drop the glowing gift of My
presence as you reach for lifeless ashes. Return to Me, regain My Presence."
