Mr Leroy Wise Robinson

Mr. Leroy Wise Robinson was born on February 12, 1936 to the late John Robinson and Lula Mae Traylor, in Fort Worth, Texas.

He attended local schools in Fort Worth. As a young man looking to sustain employment, he began doing several odd jobs. One of them was roofing. He crossed over to the agricultural industry which brought him from Texas to California where he met and married Lee Ointean White and started a family. During this time they were members of St Paul Baptist church of Watsonville, under the late Rev. Lee T. Jones. It was at this ministry he accepted the Lord and served as a deacon.  He worked for a few produce companies before landing a position with Bud Antle of California which later merged with Dole and became one of the largest produce distributors across the states. He worked for this company for 30 plus years. He had received numerous awards and recognition for maintaining safety in a position that at times could become “unsafe” and hazardous. He was offered a promotion as foreman, yet he declined. If you knew Leroy he would affectionately say,” I like to mind my business as they mind theirs.” He later retired at age 62 in 1998.

That same year he and his wife relocated to Richmond, CA, until her untimely death in 2003. He later relocated to Sacramento, CA until his untimely death. Mr. Robinson was an avid sports fan. On occasion he’d attend an A’s game, San Francisco Giants, or Raiders game.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Robinson, and Lula Mae Traylor. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 41yrs, Lee Ointean Robinson.

He leaves behind a son & daughter in law, Paul and Lupe Robinson of Elk Grove, CA; daughters and son-in-laws, Pamela Lee and Manuel Ortega of Watsonville, Melvin and Priscilla Chamblee of  Dixon, CA. 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
