Mrs Loretta M. Stirling

November 18, 1942 ~ June 4, 2022 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Tribute

Born Miss Loretta M. Fuccillo, November 18, 1942 in Albany, CA to the proud parents Mary (Molica) and Joseph Fuccillo. Loretta would remain here in the Bay Area, attending Contra Costa College receiving her Associate’s degree, marrying the love of her life, Archie Stirling and raising a family of their own.

Loretta and Archie married June 24, in 1962. The two would honeymoon in Lake Tahoe, a location that would become one of Loretta’s favorite places to visit. The trips to Lake Tahoe soon became a family affair, and the entire family would take trips there every year.

Loretta for the most part was a Domestic Engineer, caring for her family for many years, but eventually joined the “workforce” as a Customer Service Representative at Macy’s for more than 10 years. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph Church and their organization including the Young Ladies Institute of Pinole. As well as a monthly meeting of Women from her sorority for many years; the large group would over time face their own losses and the meetings became smaller and not as frequent, but it was something Loretta always enjoyed being a part of.

Some of Loretta’s interests included her daily Sudoku and crossword puzzles, watching Golf, Football (the Raiders being her favorite…until they moved) and horse races – particularly the Kentucky Derby. She enjoyed decorating for the holidays, and making her spaghetti sauce although she never felt like it could compare to her own mother’s sauce; most of all she really loved and enjoyed being a grandma. When her first grandchild, Rachael lived with her, she soaked up every minute of playing the part.

Loretta was well known for being a bit of a worrier, but along with that came her very loving and caring nature. Always looking after and being there for those who were ill or just needed someone to be there. She also absolutely loved ALL of her animals, but the “best” one of all was Deezy, her little pit bull mixed rescue dog.

In 2015, Loretta was given the news that she was cancer free. After nearly seven years, this past March she was informed that the cancer had come back. After a short but courageous battle, Loretta Stirling passed away June 4, 2022 with her loving family by her side.

She leaves to cherish her memory, husband of 60 years (June 24, 2022) Archie Stirling; daughters, Teresa and Marianne Stirling; son, John Stirling and his wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Rachael and Dylan Stirling, Bryar Tarango; great-granddaughters, Aurora Morgan and Matilda Stirling; as well as a host of other family and good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Jimmy Delano Fuccillo.
