Michael James Miller, Sr. was born June 14, 1963 in California. He was the last of four children born to Jack Miller and Betty Hansen. Mike grew up, attended schools and raised his family in the Bay Area. He worked for 20 years with the Phillips 66 Refinery. Besides being a Plant Operator, Mike was very involved with the refinery’s community outreach projects and President of the USW (United Steelworkers) Local 326. A hardworking man, Mike enjoyed golfing, riding bikes and hanging out with his grandkids in his spare time.  

When you ask anyone about Michael Miller, you are usually going to get the same answer: Mike was a good man. A Natural born leader, Mike was a mentor to many of the kids in his family, friends and community. He thrived on seeing and wanting Everybody to succeed and “be better”. In addition, Mike was loyal, an obvious trait clearly stated by the fact that he was a Raiders fan.

On October 24, 2020, Mike unexpectedly left this earthly world behind. Though there are many hearts aching, we find comfort in knowing that he will continue to watch over those left behind.

Husband of 13 years to Theresa Miller. A devoted father to Michael Miller, Jr. (wife, Ashley), Daniel Ortega, and Brandy Brooks. Loving grandfather to Amaya Love Miller, Trinity Rain Miller and Karysa Ortega. Two sisters, Shirley Jackson and Becky Rome, as well as a large host of other family and good friends are left to cherish his memory. One older brother, Michael Merle Miller preceded him in death as an infant.
